Alfi Chang: Birmingham City midfielder joins Walsol on a loan – BBC

League leaders have signed Birmingham City Alfa Chang’s midfielder on the rest of the season.

He is the fifth January signing from the saddle, which are seven points, clear at the top, although they have only taken one point in their last three games.

Chang made 21 appearances for Blues, but suffered a serious knee injury in 2023 and played only once this season when he was sent as a substitute in their 2-1 win to FA Cup over Lincoln City earlier this month.

“Alfie had a fantastic start to her career in Birmingham, playing many matches in the championship for them a few years ago,” said Wallsol Matt Sadler’s chief.

“I look forward to seeing him playing, he is a very tidy football player, brings quality in areas forward, and he is looking forward to seeing how he grows as the loan goes on.”

Chang can argue to debut on Saturday’s play in Colchester United.

“I’ve heard really good things from people I know who know the club well,” he said.

“I want to go back to the game of football and help the team insist on a promotion.”
