Malouf’s has been an iconic Lubbock business for more than 75 years, but its run in Lubbock is coming to an end.
Malouf’s opened in Lubbock in 1949 and has been at the center of Lubbock’s fashion and design industry ever since. Since it was founded by John Maloof, the iconic store has offered custom tailoring, high-end fashion brands, jewelry, consulting and more. Every time someone walked into Maloof, they knew they were entering a different experience not found in many places.
Malouf’s celebrated its 75th anniversary in Lubbock in September, but according to a news release, the longtime Lubbock business is set to close its Lubbock doors for good. Malouf’s also operates a location in Southlake, Texas and will remain open.
According to a press release, Malouf’s will offer discounts on select items starting Thursday, October 31. At the time of writing, no closing date has been set.
Malouf’s is the latest business to close in Lubbock. While it’s not officially closing, instead just moving operations to Southlake, it’s still a big loss for Lubbock, as it’s a longtime Lubbock favorite. Losing any local business hurts, especially one that has been around for 75 years.
According to the press release, there will be discounts on clothing, accessories and even store equipment starting Thursday.

I recently went into Buc-ee’s in Fort Worth and even though we are still days away from Halloween, they already had some Christmas and holiday decorations and gifts available for purchase. These are the best items I found that were available as of 10/21/24. Of course, availability will vary.
