After driver of a ride action, Hialeah Native JC Escarra takes Uber to Yankee Stadium for his first game in MLB – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Time, Sport | Fort Lauderdale

New York (AP), JC Escarra’s via professional baseball, included a deviation to concert work as a driver of a ride.

When it comes time to leave your hotel at Midtown Manhattan at Yankee Stadium on Thursday for his possible debut in the main league, 29-year-old hunter and infiltral called for a car.

“It was quite cool. I went down there, waiting for Uber Black Luxury. I felt pretty special,” he said. “I never led Uber to the Yankees Stadium, so it was cool to see the views, the bridge, the Yankee Stadium from afar.”

Two years ago, he was out of the baseball and now wore the # 22 for the Al Champion New York Yankees protective.

“There was a time in my life that I thought I would not play baseball. So to wake up this morning as a baseball player in the main league, especially for New York Yankees, that means the world to me,” he said.

Escara grew up in the Miami area and, since he was 4 years old, played in a youth ball with and against Nestor Cortez, former Yankees and current brewer.

Choosing a project of the 17th round of Baltimore in 2017, which signed a bonus of $ 125,000, the escara rose to the Triple-A by 2021, but was cut off at the end of spring training in 2022.

He played an independent ball with Kansas City’s monarchs at the American Association and the Puerto Rico Winter Ball with Leones de Ponce. He married this October and had to figure out how to make money.

Escara gave about 10 rides as a Uber driver with his rented Lexus and spent January until April 2023 as a replacement teacher at the Doral Academy Preparatory School, taking on art classes, music and physical education in the high school.

“My favorite was PE because I have to be out, shoot and watch the boys practice baseball,” he said. “Let’s say I have a late period, with the seventh period – the class is at 3:30, the baseball team has already practiced.”

This team included Adrian Santana, a short stop, which will be selected by Tampa Bay with the 31st total choice in the amateur project for 2023.

“He was full of scouts who came to watch him, and since I was already there, I would go one by one:” Hey, if you needed a left hunter, I am your man, “he said. “None of these guys signed me.”

He started 2023 with another independent team, Gastonia in the Atlantic League, and was sold this June to Mexico Toros de Tijuana and traded in July by Algodoneros de Unian Laguna. The Yankees signed him for a minor league contract in January 2024, he started at the Double-A Somerset and ended at the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Esca hit .302 with three homes and eight RBI in 19 spring training games this year. Yankis manager Aaron Boone called him at his Steinbrenner office on Saturday.

“It’s hard to need because I know you’re putting in a really good position and you’ve done everything we could expect,” Boone said during a meeting that the Yankees recorded. “You became better as a hunter, rowing and entering here and showed it. But as you know, we have a lot of catch at depth, as you know, so it makes it difficult.”

Boone stopped, then looked at the Escar and said, “No, you go to the big leagues.”

The escara laughed and clapped three times. He called his mother in a conversation recorded by the Yankees, the news told her, and she was screaming and crying.

He entered the lavish club house for the first time on Thursday and said, “I sailed in a cloud.”

While most players want tips before their debut, Escra gave one to his driver.

“Yes, of course,” he said with a smile.
