GLENDALE, Wis. — The city of Glendale experienced technical issues on the first day of absentee voting in several Wisconsin communities.
The city says the Wisconsin Elections Commission system used for in-person absentee voting is experiencing severe delays and intermittent outages.
Residents tell WTMJ they were told by the clerk they could come back later, stay and wait, or request an absentee ballot.
The city did not offer a timetable for when the delays and outages might be fixed, but noted it plans to continue offering in-person voting until Nov. 1 at City Hall.
City Clerk Megan Humitz contacted the state about the technicalities and is processing more than 100 absentee ballot requests made today due to the difficulties.
