The owner of Koi Sushi & Hibachi Steak House, Evah Xiao, believes the answer is both.

The restaurant, located on 3510 West Road, serves Japanese cuisine, including Hibachi, Sushi and Teriyaki.

There was a soft opening in December.

“Trenton is jumping right now,” Xiao said. “This is something new to the city. “We are not a chain. We are owned by a small local family. I wanted to bring this to Trenton. “

Xiao said that as a Grosse Ile business, there are plans for the Trenton establishment to join community activities in an attempt to be a good neighbor.
