Police in Wisconsin said a man and his dog were found stabbed to death at home after investigators visited the property to investigate a potential breakthrough.

The Kenosha Police Department has arrested Justin Terchek, a 41-year-old person who is of interest after the “suspicious death” in Kenosha on Monday.

The department stated that its employees first responded to the property at about 11:42 “After the homeowner called to announce that someone had possibly entered his home and that his back door was broken.

“The home was checked at the time and no one was found inside. A complaint was taken and evidence was collected,” police said.

“Around 2:32 pm, the Kenosha Police Department replied to the same home for another burglary complaint. It is reported that the caller was observed blood outside the back door and the door was forced to open,” they added. “After arriving on the spot, the officers found a deceased man in the basement, with an obvious wound to the knife. They also found a dog with a similar wound that died shortly after the officers arrived.”

Then a Swat team was located to clean up the property.

“As soon as the employees discovered that the home was a crime scene, several detectives and employees were sent to launch an investigation into killings,” according to a police station in Kenosha.
