A Wilmington man arrested on charges of DUI, Drugs, Weapons theft in Georgetown – Wrde.com

Georgetown, Del. Delaware’s US Police arrested 35-year-old Douglas McLean of Wilmington on DUI, drugs and weapons theft after stopping traffic early on January 24th on Friday.

A patrol officer noticed Ford Fusion moving at speed and turning along the North DuPont Boulevard near Deer Forest Road. The driver, identified as McLean, showed signs of damage during braking, police said.

After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, the police officer arrested McLean for drunk driving. A subsequent search of the car found a stolen 9mm pistol, ammunition and approximately 2.3 grams of cocaine, authorities said.

McLean was transported to Squad 4, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possessing a firearm by a person convicted of a crime (a crime)
  • Prohibited possession of a deadly weapon by a person (a crime)
  • Prohibited possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person (a crime)
  • Getting a stolen firearm (offense)
  • Possessing a firearm under influence
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Drunk -driving
  • Speeding
  • Failure to stay in one strip
