MANILA, Daggett District A driver and his passenger have been arrested after fleeing from police on Friday afternoon.

According to the booking affidavit, Garth Stringer, 53, was pulled over on State Route 43 at 500 E. after police spotted his black Chevrolet Silverado with fake license plate.

When asked for a license, registration and proof of insurance, the affidavit said Stringer did not confirmed the question and refused to leave the vehicle. The affidavit states that Stringer said, “We’re not doing this again,” as he drove off.

The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office would pull over at mile marker 120 on Wyoming Highway 414, after the Wyoming border, where they would eventually stop the Stinger truck with a spike strip.

While searching the vehicle, police said they found marijuana and drugs, along with a loaded firearm on the driver’s side floor.

According to the affidavit, both Stinger and his passenger Brittany Stevenson, 41, were transported to UCSO jail.
