A teenage shot during the Birmingham shootout is now accused of murder – Al.com

The 18-year-old was accused of exchanging a firing in Birmingham, who left a man dead and the suspect himself wounded.

David Hunter has been charged with murder in Monday’s murder of 42-year-old Christine Deandre Thorne.

Hunter remains hospitalized in UAB.

The firing exchange is thought to have begun with a home dispute between Thorne and his girlfriend. He escalated in an exchanging firing hunter, police said.

The shooting happened at 16:35 in the 1500 block on 52nd street in Enli in the neighborhood of the central park.

“The officers were at the scene within seconds,” said officer Truman Fitzgerald. “We had some officers nearby.”

They arrived to find a thorn and a hunter wounded outside the house.

The Birmingham Fire Department and Rescue Service pronounced Thorne dead on stage at 16:53

Hunter was taken to the UAB hospital with life -threatening injuries. His current condition was not available immediately.

Fitzgerald said it seemed that Thorne was involved in a home dispute, probably with his girlfriend.

Weapons were then pulled out and the shooting happened. Hunter is either a friend or family friend of the girlfriend, Fitzgerald said.

Spotter for a shot is recorded at least 10 cartridges exchanged between the two men.
