RENO, Nevada (KOLO) – Update: Reno police said they found and arrested the subject. He is charged with child endangerment, resisting and obstructing.
Original (5:15am) – The existing shelter is now up for people in northwest Reno.
Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, people near Escalaera Way were told to shelter in place and call 911 if they heard a loud noise. Reno police said they received a call around 2:30 a.m. about a disturbance at an apartment. When they attempted to make contact, one person fled on foot from behind.
Police searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Pre-trial proceedings are underway, but the police do not specify what the suspect is wanted for.
RPD says they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
