A police officer in North Las Vegas Jason Roskov, killed in the performance of the Idaho News

The North Las Vegas Police Department mourns the loss of officer Jason Roskov, who was killed in the duty on Tuesday.

The 46 -year -old officer Roskov dedicates 17 years to the department, starting his service on June 18, 2007.

His commitment to public safety brought him to the Movement Division on February 9, 2013, where he was recognized by the sample prize for his achievement service under challenging conditions. He returned to patrol operations on February 10, 2024, continuing to serve with dedication and professionalism.

Officer Roskov was more than a colleague, he was a friend, mentor and valuable member of our family of law enforcement, “the department said.” His victim will never be forgotten and his inheritance of service and courage will continue to inspire all of us.

The North Las Vegas Police Department has expanded its deepest condolences to the family of officer Roskov, promising to honor his memory and to ensure that his service and victim have never been forgotten.

Officer Roskov and the suspect were killed in a shootout on Tuesday afternoon after the suspect allegedly directed a gun at another person.

This incident marked the first firing related to the North Las Vegas Police Office in 2025.
