Fremont – A man from San Pablo is accused of holding a gun to the woman’s head and robbing her under a weapon, court records show.

The 25-year-old man was accused of Thursday for robbery, an attack with a firearm, a weapon of a criminal, and the criminal threats, court records show. The robbery was reported to police two days later by the alleged victim, which called 911 from Motel 6 in Fremont where it happened, authorities said.

The woman told police that the suspect had robbed her after trying to hire her in prostitution, authorities said. In an interview, the man denied robbing her, but instead claims that the two had “exchanged blows” and that he had broken through her bag afterwards, returning him back after discovering that there was nothing worth taking, According to court records.

Police say the woman has suffered many bruises and that the text messages between the two have supported her claim that he had stolen money and her bag. She was briefly hospitalized, authorities said.

The man was suspended for a sentence in 2024 related to burglary, a spectacular theft and a police chase in Santa Clara County, according to court records.
