One day after President Donald J. Trump ordered the US Department of Justice to remove all Biden’s lawyers, April Leon was promoted to the US -holding US District Court lawyer in Louisiana.
Trump’s order has removed dozens of president Joe Biden, assigned to Trump’s predecessor in the oval office. The host included Ron Gate, Jr., who was the best federal prosecutor for the Court of Justice anchored in the center of Baton Rouge.
Gate, a native of Baton Rouge, was nominated by Biden and took over the first black lawyer in a nearby US region in December 2021.
He chose Leon as his second command, named her the first assistant lawyer in the United States in October 2023. She brings with her the highest work of 15 years of prosecutorial experience in the state and federal courts.
In a statement on Wednesday, the appointment of Leon was announced, employees of the US Middle District did not mention the dismissal of Gate.
“It is an honor for me to continue my commitment to the public service as an acting lawyer for the United States and to fulfill the mission of the department, working together with our federal, state and local partners,” Leon said.
The middle region covers nine parishes with a combined population of about 1 million people. The region is located between the federal courts anchored in New Orleans to the east and Shrevport in the northern territories of the state.
The Office runs federal prosecution and civil court disputes in East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge and Ibervil, among other parishes.
On Tuesday, Trump announced the dismissal of US lawyers on his social platform for the truth, saying that the Ministry of Justice was “politicized” during Biden’s presidency.
The sharp shake was still obvious on the website of the Ministry of Justice, where 70 of the 93 US lawyers were celebrated Wednesday afternoon as a “acting”, including Leon.
