A new billboard at Hialeah Label Communist Leaders "Real traitors" – Cubaheadlines

Recently erected a billboard at the intersection of the 167th and the Hyali palm served as a counterattack as previous secretary of the Secretary of State Marco Rubio and three Cuban-American representatives. This new billboard includes the faces of Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, Miguel Díaz-Canel, Nicolás Maduro, Hugo Chávez, and Daniel OrtegaAlong with the English message: “True traitors – to their people. For freedom. For human rights.”

It is believed that over 180 Cubans holding the immigration status of the I-220A have funded this initiative. Their message is a direct rebuttal of an earlier billboard, set by a democratic organization indicating Marco Rubio, Maria Elvira Salazar, Mario Diaz-Balart and Carlos Gimenes as “traitors to immigrants”.

“We felt outraged. We answered the truth: the real traitors are those communist regimes that forced us to run from our countries,” said Lianett Perez, one of the campaign organizers, announced Telemundo 51.

Political reflection in Miami-Dadd

The controversial billboard was part of a campaign calling on Republican MPs to defend the temporary protective status (TPS) for thousands of immigrants. The Cuban community with the status of I-220A, which does not provide work permits or residence roads, claims that the campaign does not represent them.

“We are very grateful to these congressmen. They have been our defenders from the beginning,” the group stressed.

Their goal is to draw attention to the uncertain immigration situation that those in the legitimate limbs face, without benefits or solid immigration protection. They insist that their actions are not politically driven, but more than recently grateful to the allies in their struggle.

“My life is not what I was hoping for … but it’s not a wasted time. It’s time to fight for our legalization and the freedom of Cuba,” said Yoslain Gonzalez in the same media, also under the status of the I-220A.

Call Action in Capitol

The organizers have already contacted the offices of the mentioned congressmen and announced a rally to Capitol on April 25 at 9:00 am, where they will continue to require legal resolution for their cases.

Both billboards remain visible in different parts of the Miami-Dad County, a situation that some already call the “Battle of the Billboard”.
