Baton Rouge – A man missed his girlfriend early on Friday morning when he tried to enter his apartment without his knowledge, according to Baton Rouge police.
The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to Burbank Drive apartment shortly after 1 in the morning for shooting.
The 29 -year -old Michael Taylor, Jr., told the officers that he was in his bed when he hears noises coming from his front door. He grabbed a firearm and shot through the door several times, hitting the man on the other side, who was accidentally his girlfriend.
Taylor said his girlfriend was living in Texas and he didn’t know she was entering the city. Taylor’s dog, which was on the couch near the door, was also hit by a bullet during the incident.
Taylor was arrested for animal cruelty, second -degree murder attempts, possessing a firearm by a convicted criminal and illegal use of weapons.
Both Taylor’s girlfriend and his dog got life -threatening injuries.
