A man was fatally shot in Durham Thursday night; Second Murder This Week – Yahoo! Voices

The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred south of downtown Thursday night.

Officers responded at 8:41 pm to a report of a gunshot wound in the 3000 block of E Weaver St. and found a man with serious injuries, according to a news release.

He was taken to the hospital where she died.

Investigators have not released the man’s name or other details.

It was the second fatal shooting in Durham this week.

On Sunday night, Chaquila Little, 34, was fatally shot at a gas station in the 9000 block of Fayetteville St. Police have charged Officer Braham Pugh, 30, with first-degree murder.

As of Oct. 12, a total of 182 people had been shot this year in Durham, 25 of them fatally, according to police statistics.

That’s down from 32 fatal shootings at the same time in each of the previous two years, the statistics show.
