Miami Springs, Flag. – A bizarre series of events on Saturday morning led by Miami Springs police officers to arrest a man on several charges, authorities said.
Police said they first encountered the 31 -year -old Jander Arieta of Hyalea, throwing rocks and damaging the sign of welcome to Miami Springs in the 1500 block on the North Royal Poinzina Boulevard.
When they tried to talk to him, he threw two railway spikes on a cruiser, lifting it and breaking glass, the authorities said.
Police said Arieta had jumped into the Okeechobee channel, where officers had to follow him in a small boat.
The suspect was caught with the help of two police dogs, but refused to identify.
The report states that after being taken to a nearby K-9 bites to their hand and hand, employees have been able to identify Arrieta using persons recognition software.
He was prisoned on seven charges of crimes, including criminal mischief, tried to aggravate an attack on an officer, shoot or throw a deadly rocket and an officer battery.
