A man arrested for trafficking in people in Rockbridge: Virginia State Police – WSET

Rockbridge County, Washington (WSET) – A man was arrested in connection with the traffic of people in Rockbridge on Monday, according to employees.

According to Virginia State Police, 67-year-old Earl Wayne Smith has been arrested and charged with:

• Prostitution
• Prostitution
• Keeping or residing in a sore spot
• Trafficking

VSP says Smith has been accused of a prolonged investigation, which has led VSP into an extensive operation of human trafficking in the Roanock Valley Community and Rockbridge.

Officials say that evidence of the charges has been seized from several places controlled by Smith, including his residence.

The seized objects include physical evidence of fees, drugs and firearms.

VSP continues to track leading and interviewed witnesses involved in this investigation.
