A man arrested after breaking down the window of the police cruiser with a rock, entering the Miami Springs channel, says Chief – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Time, Sport | Fort Lauderdale

Miami Springs, Flag. (WSVN) – A police meeting in Miami Springs took an alarming turn when a man threw a dull object as an officer cruiser, then entered a channel, a test that led to his arrest, authorities said.

Video has shown that the suspect is practicing his back in an attempt to avoid officers near the Northern Royal Pole Boulevard, from the Hyaleya autostand, Saturday morning.

The concerned neighbors clicked pictures of a police cruiser, broken the passenger’s side window, uncertain what was happening.

Miami Springs Police Chief Matthew Castillo described what preceded the chaotic confrontation, which took place around 9:30 in the morning

“We had an officer to encounter an individual who behaved unstable and threw rocks into a sign,” he said.

At that moment, when, Castillo said, the situation escalates.

“The topic focused his attention to the officer and actually threw a rock on the officer, breaking off the officer’s window,” he said.

The officers went after the man, later identified as 31-year-old Jander Molina Arieta, who, investigators, began to throw spikes on metal trains to them.

And the suspect went to the channel, the police said, swimming and swimming until he reached a lot the water road.

“In the last few hours, we have observed the movements of the site during aviation by Miami-Dad,” Castillo said.

Then the authorities decided to meet Molina Arieta, where he found himself. Two Sheriff’s Sheriff’s Sheriff’s Miami-Dad sheriff tried to contact him in a boat.

“We have agreed successfully to make him return to the channel bank,” Castillo said.

But after the suspect came to the channel bank, detectives said, officers realized there was a weapon on it.

“Fortunately, we unfolded our K-9 and our K-9 took it in custody,” Castillo said.

Paramedics with the fire rescue in Miami-Dad took Molina Arieta from there.

“You walk every day, talk to people and do not know what they are going through, and this one is obviously in some kind of influence or has a mental episode and see what caused it,” Castillo said.

Molina Arietta has been faced with several charges, including an aggravated attack on a police officer. He is held on a bond of $ 27,500.
