LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The man accused of shooting his ex-wife will go on trial next year.
On Wednesday, October 30, Billy Delgado appeared in the 111th District Court.
He is accused of shooting Erika Torres, the mother of his child, on June 1. Delgado was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Torres survived the attack and remains hospitalized in San Antonio.
Delgado’s trial was scheduled for February 2025; in attendance was Erica’s mother, Edith Terrasas, who said she hoped justice would be served for her daughter.
“It’s a bit disappointing because he’s out and my daughter can’t be. There are many things she cannot do. She can’t even hang out with her daughters. It’s just not fair,” Terrazas said.
As of June 2024, Delgado is being held in the Webb County Jail, but was released on bond on Sunday, October 27.
