Authorities in Louisiana mistakenly released a prisoner accused of murder. He has since been taken back to custody.
According to WBRZ, WAFB and The advocate, Christopher Davis, who was arrested in connection with a murder in Baton Rouge, was slaughtered on a bus station with other prisoners who had served their sentences and were released.
“This particular prisoner was transported from the place where he was in East Carol, along with a group of prisoners who apparently served their time and were brought to a bus stop,” Ruzh Moore Moore District Prosecutor told WAFB.
Authorities did not say what Davis caused to be released wrong.
Davis was arrested in January 2023, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department after being charged with fatal shooting of 37-year-old Deadre Duncan after a dispute in December 2022.
Subsequently, Sheriff’s office in East Baton Rouge said Davis was seized, according to WAFB.

WBRZ reported that Davis’s family was not aware of his release until police came to their home, looking for him.
“Why did you let him go first? You will tell us that he should not be released, but he was released, you made a big hiccup,” a family member told the station.
It is not clear immediately whether Davis has a lawyer or whether he has entered a legal basis for the murder accusation he is faced with.
