Lincoln – Nebraska’s football has a large picking weekend as it is preparing to host at least 12 recruits, including key goals in class 2026.
The Nu Winter Junior Day event allows recruits to have in -depth conversations with coaches. Nebraska is usually hosted in the summer.
Huskers have four new assistants, which means that this weekend is an opportunity to build connections.
“There are a bunch of new defense coaches, so I’m excited to meet all the new dudes now in the city,” said Elhorn North Linker 2026 Jace Reynolds. “I had no chance of going down there after any of the changes, so I look forward to meeting these coaches and start building my relationship with them.”
Reynolds, who has long been a target of Nu’s, was a happy slave Midicek stayed with the staff. Reynolds has already built a strong connection with the Hoker Linkers coach after several Lincoln visits in the last two years.
For 2026, recruits (current high school adolescents) come time to make a decision. Reynolds plans to continue recruiting in the spring, traveling to Iowa, Iowa, Kansas and Minnesota of his radar.
However, he knows that another weekend with the NU coaching staff can provide clarity.
“Me and my family, we think it’s really important to go to a place that has a great culture,” Reynolds said. “I’m looking for a place that not even play my freshman or sophomore, they will be loyal to me because I will give everything I have for them. It is important to have a place that will not turn my back, it will want to build me. “
Nebraska’s coaches, including Matt Rul, have been recruiting all month, but they will not be able to make a further gain for visits by mid-April, earlier.
Another goal of Junior Day’s weekend is to show the invitees that they are among the priority recruits. Just a small number of 2027 prospects, including Milatern West Matt Erickson’s offensive liner and Chandler (Arizona), Basha, who goes back, Noah Roberts, will participate over the weekend.
Instead, the focus is on the recruits in 2026, many of whom recently heard from the Husquery. For Reynolds, this meant a visit from Ruleto and director of player Keith Williams.
“He just showed me that I am one of their priorities, that they want me and that they show me that,” Reynolds said to school. “You make you feel good and confident that they like what they see from me.”
Most, if not all, from the visitors of 2026, in 2026 saw Nebraska coaches this month.
The list of expected visitors includes the Buford Defender (GA.) Dayton Rayola, one of the three current Hurses’ 2026 commitments, from which they will be expected to contribute as a peer recruiter.
The four-star Claude Mpouma and Fruits (Aidaho) of Chicago Caramel Kelvin Okot are the recruits of the highest level of offensive lines that the Nebraska will host.
Port Huron (Michigan) northern narrow near Lincoln Watkins and Carolton (Georgia) receiver Ryan Mosley round the expected visitors to the Insult NU.
Watkins, a three -star perspective that NU Tight Ends Marcus Satterfield recently visited, won an offer this month and increased the team’s board. So is Mosli, a perspective that was identified and visited by the Wideouts Daikiel Shorts coach.
In the defense, Nebraska will welcome two other targets of the linear player with Reynolds. City City (Iowa) Bishop Helan Cassen Thomas and Jordan Campbell by Miami Carol City will also participate on Jr.
One of the best prospects in the Midwest, Thomas is the target of Hurts in the fall, while Campbell has become a recent priority. A commitment to Miami, which is a set of top 100 on a national scale, Campbell is not the only set that Husquers work to turn.
Orlando (Florida) The first defender of the Devin Jackson Academy, a commitment in Florida, will visit Lincoln for the first time with his teammate in the high school, a wide receiver/protective back Danny. Both players have existing relationships with NU Defense Backs Addison Williams coach.
Chicago Simeon Edge Rusher Mchale Blade, a four -star perspective, rounds the expected list for visitors over the weekend.
Last days of the junior day proved to be extremely successful Nebraska endeavors. Five of the players who participated in the event a year ago signed with the team this winter: Cortes Mills, Isaiah Mose, Christian Jones, Kade Pitrzac and Jackson Carpenter.
