A giant 15 -meter tower play attraction installed in County Durham Park – the northern echo

Part of the Durham County County County County Scheme, the giant tower will be installed in Hardwick Park.

The tower, which will be the only one of its kind in the UK, is transported from Germany and is modeled after its colleague at Bietigeim-Bissingen, near Stuttgart.

Standing at 14.5 meters, the tower was designed to complement the Gothic Portal and the 18th Century Park Tower, designed by architect James Payne.CGI image of what the tower will look like (Image: DCC)

The structure will include rope ropes, net bridge, slides and various touch elements.

The viewing platform will allow children to enjoy the views of the park.

The park attracts 450,000 visitors a year.

Advisor James Rowlands, a member of the Durham County Cabinet for resources, investment and assets, said: “Hardwick Park is one of our most busy parks and welcomes 450,000 visitors every year.Left, Lindsay Archer, James Young, Caller James Rowlandson and Tom Forster, Outdoor Game Coordinator, Daryl Cox, Main Parks and Rural ManagerLeft, Lindsay Archer, James Young, Caller James Rowlands and Tom Forster and Daryl Cox (Image: DCC)

“We know that the park is popular with families, so we are committed to developing the play area in a refreshed, new playing space for children, developing their motor skills and spending quality time outdoors.

“We are very excited to announce the most function of the park, which we hope to bring the young people to new heights in their play and development.

This is part of the play area improvements, which also include zipper line, basket cradle, hammocks, accessible roundabouts and outdoor musical instruments.

The play area near the Gothic Tower is currently closed to these installations, but is expected to open again in the spring.

Other facilities near the cafeteria of the tower remain open as usual.
