A FIU graduate of Hialeah, named after Yankees opening book – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Time, Sport | Fort Lauderdale

(WSVN) – The former FIU JC Escarra baseball player, a native of Hialeah, has won a place in the list to open the day of opening the New York Yankees, the social media team announced on Saturday.

Escara, who plays for FIU from 2014 to 2017, becomes the 19th player in the history of the program, which reaches the main leagues.

After years of perseverance – including working as a Uber driver and a replacement teacher to support his dream – Esca’s breakthrough comes after excellent spring training, where he struck .333 with three home runs and seven RBI.

During its senior season in FIU, Escara led the. 305, 15 household tracks and 49 RBI, winning honors from the US Second US team. It was prepared by Baltimore Orioli in the 15th round of the MLB 2017 project.

Escarra joins Logan Allen of the Guardians in Cleveland and Austin Sheton of Seattle Marinors as one of the three former FIU players who are currently on a list of 40 years in the League.
