Durham – a man from New Hampshire has been arrested and charged with numerous charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a child, authorities said on Monday.
The Newport Police Department has launched an investigation on January 23 after receiving a sexual assault report on an adult man.
The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Evan Pete by Durham, has been accused of traveling to Newport to meet the child after communication on social media.
The alleged attack occurred while parked in a local path.
During his investigation, police in Newport conducted interviews for witnesses, examined footage from the security camera, gathered physical and medical forensic evidence, as well as digital forensic data.
These efforts led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Pete.
Pete was detained by police in Durham on January 28 and subsequently handed over to the Newport organs.
His accusations include aggravated criminal sexual assault with superb physical force, coercion or threat, abduction, criminal sexual assault due to an age difference of four years or more and some forbidden computer uses.
According to the recently registered statute, Pete does not meet the requirements for a guarantee and was detained in the House of Adjustments of the Sullivan County.
It is scheduled to settle in the 5th round – District Department – Newport on January 29th.
The Newport Police Department is collaborating with the Durham Police Department, the Center for Children for Children of the Counts of Grafton and Sullivan, Dartmut Hi, the Massachusetts State Police Synthesis Center and the Internet crimes of the Lincoln Police Department against the Lincoln Cybern Lennist Laboratory.
As the investigation continues, additional charges may be taken into account when the case is presented to the large jury of the Supreme Court of Sullivan.
Detective Sergeant Alexander Marvin has called everyone with information related to the investigation to come out.
