We’re almost halfway through the fantasy football regular season. While two of the biggest bye weeks are behind us, injuries continue to pile up around the league. This week for the Handcuffs Report we have some graduations from the list.
Tank Bigsby stepped up with Travis Etienne inactive, rushing for 118 yards and two touchdowns. He looks a lot more explosive compared to last season and is likely to have earned himself a share of the backline even after Etienne returns.
Tyron Tracy of the Giants has started to emerge as a reliable option. with New York’s ongoing injury woes will count on him as he played well ahead of Devin Singletary on Sunday. Ignore the number of touches here – Tracy played on 67% of the snaps and he looks like a gem of a waiver wire at this point.
Finally, Cincinnati’s Chase Brown is off the roster as the Bengals continue to shuffle their defensive backfield. He took control of the Bengals backfield, outscoring Zach Moss 17-9. For the second week in a row, it maintains a healthy advantage in options, signaling that it is becoming the preferred option in the backfield moving forward.
Handcuff Ranking
1. Tyler Allgaier (RB – ATL)
Tyler Allgaier jumps to the No. 1 spot and could have the look of an RB1 downfield if something happens to Bijaan Robinson. Allgeier is averaging 5.7 yards per carry (YPC) this year and will be role locked with touch 18+.
2. Zack Charbonnet (RB – MORE)
Zach Charbonnet got a little more run for Sunday’s blast. He played 55% of the snaps, but still trailed Kenneth Walker in relation to touches. We’ve seen what Charbonnet can do when given the chance.
3. Bucky Irving (RB – TB)
There’s little reason to take Bucky Irving off this list, but he was behind Rachaad White in Monday night’s snap. Irving was still very much involved with 12 touches for 77 yards and a touchdown. He was also a borderline hit in Week 6. He’s Flex-worthy regardless of White’s status.
4. Ray Davies (RB – BUF)
I was out for Ray Davis, but he popped up last week and I left him off the list because it was the Monday night game. That is changing now and he will be a firm fixture here moving forward. His 23 touches in a game in which James Cook was inactive is a huge signal, but what excited me was his three receptions. It has league winner written all over it if Cook is injured.
5. Braylon Allen (RB – New York)
Breece Hall continues to be a workhorse in New York, meaning Braylon Allen has seen his touches decrease in recent weeks. That’s nothing against him as a player, but with the Jets at 2-5 and their playoff hopes already on the ropes, I’d expect Hall to be the primary back. Alan is still worth hiding. If things get to the point where New York is completely out of contention, he could get more titles at the end of the year.
6. Jaylen Warren (RB – PIT)
Jaylen Warren looked on really good Sunday night and probably for the first time this year he was 100% healthy. He had a higher snap percentage than Najee Harris (51%/49%) and also had a season-high 14 touches, which he turned into 59 yards. Warren is a different runner than Harris, but his explosiveness gives him a much higher ceiling.
7. Blake Corum (RB – LAR)
Blake Corum is one injury away from Kieron Williams as he has arguably one of the best setups in the NFL for a running back. Granted, his season so far hasn’t panned out the way we’d hoped, but with Williams commanding an 85% or more snap share, you can see the potential for Corum here.
8. Kimani Vidal (RB – LAC)
Kimani Vidal and the entire Chargers offense struggled on Monday night, producing just five field goals. The good news is that Vidal’s snap count is relatively unchanged from Week 6. I’m holding if I have it.
9. Ty Chandler (RB – MIN)
Aaron Jones is back on Sunday but could be fragile. Ty Chandler will step into a 15+ touch role on a strong offense with a favorable upcoming schedule. It is a great addition to the end of any bench.
10. Emmanuel Wilson (RB – Great Britain)
Emmanuel Wilson is the handcuff of a borderline cow-touch running back in an explosive offense. MarShawn Lloyd could play a role here, but I think the Packers trust Wilson a lot more right now.
