Sandusky County voters will decide three contests – AOL

Sandusky County voters will primarily cast ballots for regional candidates for the Nov. 5 general election.

This fall, there are only three regional races for the district’s voters to decide — one for the 88th District state representative seat between Democrat Diane Selvey, Clyde, and incumbent Republican Gary Click, Vickery.

District voters will also be involved in the race for Ohio’s 9th Congressional District between Democrat Marcy Kaptur, Toledo, and Republican challenger Derek Merrin, Waterville, who now serves in the Ohio House of Representatives for the 42nd District.

The third race on the ballot that county voters will decide will be for Sandusky County coroner between incumbent Democrat James M. Williams, Fremont, and Republican Mark R. Smith, Clyde.

Additional votes can be cast for the following candidates who have no challengers:

● District Court Judge Cynthia Ann Welty, Clyde, term begins Jan. 1.

● County Commissioner, Republican incumbent Scott Miller, Fremont, term begins Jan. 2.

● County Commission, Republican incumbent Charles Shvokhov, Fremont, term beginning Jan. 3.

● State Attorney, Republican incumbent Beth A. Tischler, Clyde.

● Clerk of Court, Republican incumbent Chris A. Schneider, Fremont.

● Sheriff, incumbent Republican Christopher J. Hilton, Castalia.

● Recorder, Republican Julie A. McCord, Fremont.

● Treasurer, Republican incumbent Kimberly S. Foreman, Clyde.

● Engineer, Republican incumbent Carlos A. Baez Sr., Fremont.
