Help kids with incarcerated parents enjoy Christmas in Lubbock – kfmx.com

It’s hard to imagine not having your parents around for Christmas morning. I was lucky enough to have them both wake me up and take me to the living room to see what fun things Santa had left overnight. That’s not the case for many kids in Lubbock.

Right now, you still have a chance to add your name to the nice list this year by giving to the children in the community who need it most. The Messengers 2024 Annual Tree Run is looking for help to ensure that over 40 children will be able to get exactly what they put on their Christmas list.

Santa doesn’t care what your parents did. Santa is for everyone. No child should wake up wondering why there is nothing under the tree.

A donation can help ease the pain of missing their loved ones on what should be the most magical day of the year for a child. You can help make their holiday experience more normal and keep the spirit of giving alive with your donation.

Several members told me why they do what they do every Christmas season:

“It’s good to give children hope and show them love in sometimes hopeless situations.” – Prospect Igor

“We’re doing this to show kids that change is possible.” – Staining

“We do it to show them that they are not alone. – Prospect Snuggles

Donations will be accepted until November 23, 2024 at the Clubhouse at 1701 Baylor. Checks can be made out to “Messengers”.

Please help make this holiday season even merrier for the boys and girls who struggle in Lubbock. You’ll be glad you did.
