Grundy County is gearing up for the November general election, which is set to take place tomorrow. Voters can vote in eight designated polling stations across the county. Four of those sites are located in Trenton, while the others are in Edinburg, Laredo, Galt and Pickard.
In Trenton, residents of the 1st Ward and Jefferson City will vote on the court. Those in the 2nd Ward and Lincoln Township will vote at the Ketcham Community Center. Residents of the 3rd Ward and Harrison Township will vote at 1st Christian Church, while voters in the 4th Ward and Jackson Township will head to the 1st Baptist Church Recreation Center.
Edinburg Baptist Church will serve as the polling place for Madison and Taylor Townships. The Laredo Community Building will be the venue for Wilson and Marion municipalities. Galt Baptist Church will receive voters from the towns of Liberty and Myers. Pickard Christian Church will handle the voting for Franklin and Washington townships.
Grundy County currently has 6,329 registered voters. The largest polling stations include Ketcham Community Center with 1,275 registered voters; the First Baptist Church recreation center with 1,214 voters; 1st Christian Church with 1,170 voters; and the courthouse, which has 1,043 registered voters. In the remaining polling stations, 593 voters are registered in Edinburg, 447 in Laredo, 325 in Galt and 262 in Pickard.
Absentee and unexcused voting will continue until 6 p.m. tonight at the Grundy County Clerk’s office, which is located on the second floor of the courthouse. By noon, over 1,000 absentee ballots had been released.
KTTN-FM will provide election results after the polls close at 7pm on Tuesday.
