VILLAGE VOICE staff reports
Hot Springs Village Fire Chief Jason Miller announced via email at 10:44 a.m. today, Monday, Nov. 4, that the burn ban has been lifted in Saline and Garland counties. “However, please remember that recreational wood burning fireplaces still require a permit from the fire department,” he wrote.
- To request an inspection and obtain a permit, call 501-922-2210.
- No wood burning fireplaces are permitted in the rental properties.
Here are some tips to keep you and your neighbors safe:
- Clean up around the fire pit while the leaves are falling.
- Use only firewood; trash or yard waste is not permitted.
- Always watch out for fires until they are completely extinguished.
- Keep extinguishing media nearby, such as dirt, sand, a bucket of water, a garden hose, or a fire extinguisher.
