HEB is starting construction in North Texas’ Kaufman County this month, but the Texas grocer isn’t done making major investments in the area just yet.
HEB purchased 25.6 acres in Mesquite “in anticipation of future growth in North Texas,” a spokesperson told the Chron. According to Kaufman County records first reported by the Dallas Business Journal, some of that land appears to include about 10 acres that the grocer purchased from Candr LLC on Oct. 22. A day earlier, the Mesquite City Council approved a zoning application allowing grocery and retail uses at the site.
Recently, HEB has been making progress in its expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with the latter city getting its first HEB in April. And shoppers in other parts of North Texas are looking forward to stores coming to Bedford and Euless, along with Murphy and Irving, in the coming years.
