Head coach Sean Payton
On the Broncos’ loss, 41-10:
“They beat us, almost in all three phases. We didn’t do a good enough coaching job. We lost to a good football team. It’s disappointing … I mentioned earlier in the week that some of the numbers can be a little misleading compared to what they do well defensively, because eventually you have to become one-dimensional.”Obviously, that happened with us today.
On the Ravens’ field goal late in the second quarter and early in the third quarter:
“I mean, it’s a big change. You know when you play a good team like this on the road, you want to score in the fourth quarter, and we weren’t able to do that.”
On whether Baltimore’s offense was as aggressive on fourth down:
“Yes. I think there are some games where your palate needs to change. We certainly felt it was one of those games that could vary depending on the opponent.”
When calling a trick play touchdown:
“It’s hard to explain. They play zero-funnel coverage. It can get complicated. We have a series of zero-funnel beaters, but one of them, the guy who isn’t covered, technically on a man, is the QB. But if you don’t get a shutout, I wouldn’t call it if I knew they did a good job [Sutton] make a good throw. It was a tight scoring game.”
