Page Bowman has done it again.
The Glendale junior won her second straight individual state championship Tuesday at the Missouri Class 3 tournament at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
Bowman finished with a three-under-par (69) on the first day of the two-day event before shooting a one-over (73) on Tuesday to finish with a total of (142), which was six strokes ahead of second place, and Glendale teammate Audrey Duvall (148). Duvall is a senior.
The two spearheaded Glendale coach Ron Yocum’s team’s dominant run to the top of the team standings. The Falcons posted a two-day score of 671, 40 strokes ahead of second-place and fellow area representative Springfield Central (721). Washington High finished third (735).
In the middle was Camilla Lu, who finished 19th with a two-day score of 166.
Grade 4: Catholic finishes sixth
Springfield Catholic finished sixth, the only Class 4 team in southwest Missouri to finish in the top 10.
The Class 4 tournament in Cape Girardeau saw the Fighting Irish finish with a two-day total of 702, well behind state champion Visitation Academy of St. Louis (651).
Junior Grace Tiedemann led Catholic with a score of 160 to finish 10th individually.
Josie Roberts of Ozark shot a 79 on Monday and a 76 on Tuesday for a score of 155, two strokes behind state champion Tess Guignon (153) of St. Joseph’s Academy.
Grade 1: Allred tops again for Ash Grove
A year after capturing a Class 1 girls state golf title as a freshman, Ash Grove’s Rylee Allred made a successful title defense.
Allred finished one shot under par on Monday (71) at Crown Point Golf Course in Farmington before shooting an 80 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 151, which was enough to secure a championship repeat.
The tournament runner-up, Laylah Bates of School of the Ozarks, finished five strokes behind (156) Allred.
In Class 2 action, Strafford tied St. Charles Lutheran for fifth in the team standings with a two-day total of 819.
