An investigation is underway after a man was shot in his vehicle in east Birmingham.
The shooting happened shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The victim stopped for help on Interstate 59/20 near Dead Man’s Curve. He found an Alabama state trooper who was at a roadblock.
Officers notified Birmingham Police, who responded to the scene and determined the shooting had occurred in the 8600 block of First Avenue North. Police said it was unclear whether he was driving or stopped when he was shot.
The victim was transported to UAB Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, said Sgt. Laquita Wade.
No arrests have been made.
