Late last week, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris held political rallies in the area to woo voters in what is expected to be a close race.

I’m asking you to dream big again, dream big again. This is going to be America’s new golden age,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd at the Lee Family Forum in Henderson, Nevada. He also supported the death penalty for any migrant who kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer.

In addition, Harris reiterated his proposal that Medicare cover a home health aide so that affected seniors can remain in their homes and receive care.

“It’s time for a new generation of leadership in America, and I’m ready to offer that as the next president of the United States,” Harris added during his speech to the audience gathered at the Craig Ranch Amphitheater in North Las Vegas. “Nevada, you know me, I’m not afraid of tough fights.”

On Saturday, Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz (D), and Trump’s running mate, U.S. Sen. JD Vance (R, Ohio), also appeared in the Las Vegas Valley at separate events.

Donald Trump is going to fade into history whether he likes it or not,” Waltz predicted.

“What would you do to fix the border? Kamala Harris? Well, nothing comes to mind… What ideas do you have for reducing grocery and housing costs for American citizens? Nothing comes to mind,” Vance said.

J. Lo in the region

One of the most anticipated recent appearances was singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, who campaigned with Harris in Nevada.

Lopez was upset by a recent offensive joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a pro-Trump rally in New York. Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

“It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, right? It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of decent character,” said Lopez, whose family comes from Puerto Rico.

you know what We have to be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We must. Our pain matters. We matter,” Lopez said. “Your voice and your voice matter.”

A very close race

The latest polls show that the race between Trump and Harris remains neck and neck.

A recent poll by Emerson College Polling/RealClearWorld gave Harris 48 percent and Trump 47 percent among likely voters polled in Nevada. The margin of error for the survey is 3.6%.

The survey was conducted between October 29 and 31. Pollsters interviewed 700 Nevadans.

As of Friday, absentee early voting has stopped in Nevada. Voters will be able to vote in person on Tuesday, Election Day.

Nevada is one of the most watched states in the US to determine who will win the presidential race.

Meanwhile, police in Henderson, Nevada, continue to investigate a recent act of vandalism at a residence in the Inspirada neighborhood. Nazi signs and other offensive vandalism occurred at the property, which displayed a Harris-Walz campaign sign.
