San Bernardino County’s superintendent of schools has announced that five of its alternative education schools have been recognized as some of America’s Healthiest Schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

Approximately 900 schools, including 13 in San Bernardino County and two in the High Desert, were recognized for their achievements in implementing and improving the physical, mental and social-emotional health of students, staff and families.

“Addressing and supporting the evolving needs of our students is at the heart of everything we do,” said Superintendent Ted Alejandre. “This recognition reaffirms that our efforts to create healthy, safe and inclusive school campuses are making a significant difference in the lives of our students.”
