CAYON PASS, CA (VVNG.com) — According to the National Weather Service (NWS), areas of Santa Ana winds are expected to last through Monday, November 4, 2024.
Dry conditions combined with gusty winds will dominate the Santa Ana Mountains, San Bernardino Mountains, inland Orange County and certain areas in the Inland Empire.
The NWS said winds will peak Monday morning below Cajon Pass and in the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains.
Wind gusts of 35-45 mph are expected in the lowlands and 50-60 mph in the foothills and canyons. Fire risk is expected to reach critical levels during this period.
Additionally, stronger Santa Ana winds may develop Wednesday and Thursday, further strengthening the critical fire weather conditions for the San Bernardino Mountains, Santa Ana Mountains and surrounding regions.
Open burning is strongly discouraged due to the increased risk of fire.
Temperatures will warm slightly on Monday, especially west of the mountains, with highs typically reaching 70 degrees in lower elevations.
