Nevada State Police say one person died in a crash on Interstate 50 just west of Austin, Nevada around 3:45 pm on October 17th.
The victim’s identity is not being released until next of kin have been notified.
The NSP investigation determined that a blue Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when the car went off the right side of the road and into the shoulder. He then hit a concrete curb and fell down a steep embankment. The Hyundai rolled to rest at the bottom of an embankment in a creek bed.
Two people were in the vehicle and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital.
The driver died of his injuries a few days after the crash, and the passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
