Red Raiders host Lubbock Christian in Fall Ball game – Fox 34

LUBBOCK, Texas (News Release) – Texas Tech softball will take on Lubbock Christian on Thursday at 6:00 pm at Rocky Johnson Field in its third game of the fall. The Red Raiders defeated Odessa College by scores of 16-0 and 12-3 over the weekend. Participation in the game will be free.

FORMERLY IN TEXAS TECH SOFTBALL:

Reigning National Player of the Year NiJaree Canady had no rust to shake off as she logged 7.0 perfect innings, striking out 18 of the 21 batters she faced while making an impression at the plate as she blasted a shutout double on bases in the second game to give Tech three runs.

Chloe Riassetto, Brenlee Gonzalez and Bailey Lindemuth also saw time in the circle last weekend. Riasseto allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out eight of the 25 batters he faced.

Gonzalez had an excellent swing and miss, striking out nine of the 14 batters he faced. Lindemuth shut out each game and allowed just two runs in two appearances.

Lindemuth would also play third base for Gary Glasco’s team, recording two doubles in the second game as fellow freshman Haley Tawney stepped up at shortstop to go 3-for-4 in the first game, missing a home run by inches right- center field.

Mihyia Davis, Logan Halleman and Alana Johnson were excellent in the outfield, showing off their speed and range with the glove. Haleman went 3-for-4 in one game with three runs and two RBI. Johnson finished the second game 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Davis collected two hits in each game and scored two runs in the leadoff spot.

Anya German and Victoria Valdez were solid hits at the catcher position, making good plays defensively behind the plate. The German scored two goals in the second game as well.

Katie Lott doubled in game one and picked up an RBI in game two. Lauren Allred recorded two hits, an RBI and a stolen base.

Raegan Jennings and Alexa Langeliers also made an impression at the plate, both recording multiple RBIs.
