Man arrested in connection with death of Kilwinning John Taylor – Irvine Times

Police Scotland confirmed on Tuesday 22 October that a 26-year-old man had been taken into custody.

John Taylor, 44, was pronounced dead outside his home on Pollock Crescent after police were called to the scene just before 2pm on Friday 18 October.

The day after his death, it was confirmed that officers were investigating a murder, saying they believed the incident to be a “targeted attack”.

The force says investigations into the incident are ongoing, having previously said it was “working to trace those responsible”.

It has not been confirmed at this stage whether the arrested man is due to appear in court in the coming days.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of John Taylor in Kilwinning.

“Mr Taylor was found with serious injuries on Pollock Crescent at around 1.55pm on Friday 18 October 2024. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
