Mi Familia Vota and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) held a press conference and campaign event on Sunday.
The event was held at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in North Las Vegas.
The focus highlights key issues related to black and brown communities in the upcoming election.
It’s part of a nationwide effort to elect representatives who protect workers’ rights and advocate for humane immigration policies in key U.S. House races across the country.
The We Decide 2024 campaign seeks to empower people of color who don’t often vote to elect leaders who will fight for humane immigration policies and push back against anti-immigration laws across the country.
This action is part of the We Decide campaign.
Sarah Evans, SEIU’s vice president of supervisory bargaining, says, “This is our get-out-the-vote event with Mi Familia, and we’re very excited to partner with many organizations because this election is critical because we’re trying to protect our union rights and to go out with the members of the community and to be a part and to show how we are a family, that is the most critical thing that we can do.”
The two million members of the Service Employees International Union support this action and its allies in key shift districts.
