South Carolina players sing Shane Beamer’s wife’s song Fantasia – Saturday Down South

South Carolina football had a night to honor in Columbia.

In front of a packed house at Williams-Brice Stadium, the resilient Gamecocks defeated No. 10 Texas A&M, 44-20, to snap the Aggies’ 7-game winning streak and improve to 5-3. They racked up 530 yards of total offense and shut out Texas A&M in the 2nd half, dominating the final 30 minutes after the game was tied 20-20 at halftime.

It was a soccer party in Colombia in front of a national television audience, and the fans stormed the field afterward. But when the game was over, the party was just getting started. In the locker room, South Carolina’s players had a predictably wild celebration that included head coach Shane Beamer and his wife, Emily.

The players played hard for Beamer all night, and after the game they still did for him, as it turned out. Beamer called his wife to the center of the celebration and told the players that next week was Emily’s birthday.

Beamer had told his players all week leading up to the game that if the Gamecocks won, he would throw a party for his wife. And so, in a show of romance and true team solidarity, Beamer and his players serenaded Emily by singing “When I See U” from Fantasia.

Apparently, the players sang the song before practice every day to prepare for the event. So after winning on the field in the biggest way Saturday night, they scored a huge win in the locker room as well.
