Every time it doesn’t seem like Florida State’s football season could get any worse, it somehow does.

FSU is now 1-8 and they played like it in a 35-11 home loss to North Carolina. UNC coach Mack Brown earned his first win in 12 tries against his alma mater.

Quarterback Brock Glenn completed a 33-yard pass on the Seminoles’ second possession. That was their only completion of the half, as Glenn and freshman Luke Kromenhoek combined to go 1 of 5. The two were also sacked five times, with Bo Atkinson contributing 3½ all by himself. The Tar Heels’ pass rush technically kept their own pace, as they had 10 sacks against Virginia last week (they would finish with seven against FSU).

Florida State was able to pick up the passing game in the second half, with Glenn finishing with 123 yards and a touchdown. But the entire team was beaten by UNC running back Omarion Hampton, who had 265 total yards to the Seminoles’ 201.

FSU fans seem to have had it with Mike Norvell and the ‘Noles. A season that began with College Football Playoff expectations will end without even a bowl game, and a loss Saturday would cement the worst season since before Bobby Bowden took over in 1977.

FSU fans react to the UNC game

One Florida State went so far as to congratulate FCS Charleston Southern in advance for their upcoming win against the Seminoles (the two play Nov. 23).

Here’s how FSU fans are doing on social media:

The Seminoles play at No. 9 Notre Dame next week, so it could get worse.
