LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Windsor Park residents have been given an update on the condition of the future land where nearly 100 homes are planned to be built.
Residents met at the Pearson Community Center on Saturday morning
The Nevada Community Development Center, which is leading the rebuilding of homes, says a soil survey has shown it’s OK to build on the land near Windsor Park, but recommends putting special slabs on the foundations of new homes.
The challenge now is to find more landowners to sell their properties for homes to be built.
There are more than 100 property owners, but only about 30 have agreed to sell.
The developer also added that the new area is a special improvement area.
That area would have benefited, but the city of North Las Vegas rejected the idea, according to the developer.
Sen. Dina Neal, the author of SB450, which allocated funds to rebuild sinking homes, says she will introduce the idea to lawmakers next year.
Students from Boyd School of Law also attended today’s meeting to help discuss the details of the bill.
