Carver High School is on lockdown due to a report of a gunman at school – Winston-Salem Journal

Police and other law enforcement officials converged on Carver High School around 11 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of a man with a gun at the school.

At 11:30 p.m., the law enforcement officers leave the school.

Amanda Lemert, speaking for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, said the lockdown is over and there are no weapons on campus. Lemert called the situation at the school “evolving.”

Earlier, a dozen police and sheriff’s cars were seen in the school’s parking lot with lights flashing, as officers got out of their cars and headed toward the school.

An announcement could be heard over the school loudspeaker telling everyone in the building to stay in their classrooms and for no one to move.

This is a developing story…
