Claire Zeller, a 24-year-old kinesiologist from St. Petersburg, Florida, and Tristen Hoover, 27, have been identified as the two victims of a crash in Baton Rouge Saturday morning.
A one-vehicle crash happened in Baton Rouge around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the area of South Foster Drive and Claycut Road.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree.
Two deaths were reported, Tristen Hoover, 27; and Claire Zeller, 24, both passengers in the back of the crashed vehicle.
Friends and family members are mourning Zeller of St. Petersburg, who is from St. Ammant, Louisiana. Zeller also holds a degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Louisiana State University.
Claire is survived by her parents and one brother and sister, according to her cousin Carrie Zeller.
“I am truly speechless. Please keep my family, especially my aunt, uncle and cousin in your prayers as they will need all the strength they can get in the coming days. Claire was my cousin, the little cousin. To say she will be missed is a drastic understatement,” Carrie wrote in a tearful farewell to her cousin.
Tristen Hoover, the other fatality, was born in Baton Rouge and graduated from Dutchtown High School. He was the owner and CEO of Driven Tree Service, according to his online bio, and was also mourned by friends and colleagues for his tragic death.
“Another one gone too soon fly high big boy Tristen Hoover,” read one tribute to him.
