WAVY Warriors help make strides against breast cancer – AOL

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — On Saturday, 10 On Your Side’s Madison Perlman and the rest of the WAVY Warriors laced up their shoes to make strides against breast cancer.

The family-friendly 5-mile walk began at 11 a.m. on the Virginia Beach waterfront.

According to the American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has become the most impactful breast cancer movement in the nation.

In 2024, the American Cancer Society estimates that in the United States:

  • About 310,720 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.

  • About 56,500 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed.

  • About 42,250 women will die from breast cancer.

So far, the event has raised just over $141,000 of its $225,000 goal. To donate to Making Strides of Hampton Roads, click here.
