LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Local law enforcement has placed all LISD and UISD local schools in “secure mode” after a threat was made against the schools. Police are actively searching for the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Juan Carlos Moreno.

Laredo police said an alarming note was left at an out-of-district facility, prompting the schools to be placed on “secure mode.”

Authorities are working to locate Moreno and anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Laredo police at 795-2800.

In secure mode, no one can enter or leave the campus.
