College Gameday returns to Baton Rouge for LSU-Alabama — and the Valley rocks

For the first time since 2019, ESPN’s College Gameday is coming to your city.

The Gameday folks announced they will bring their show to Baton Rouge next week for the Alabama game (6:30 p.m., ABC), and it will be the first time LSU has hosted since October 2019.

Not too surprising given next week’s schedule. The only other contender was going to Athens for Ole Miss-Georgia, but as we well know, LSU-Bama has been one of the biggest games of the college football season for the past 15 years. Throw in the fact that this will be Tiger Stadium on a night in a CFP elimination game, and you have all the necessary ingredients for Corso and crew to head here.

Who do you think ESPN wants to be the guest picker? The Bengals have a bye this week, so you could take Joe Burrow or Ja’Marr Chase; the pirates season ended a month ago so maybe paul scence? Livie Dunn is one of the biggest names in sports right now, and she’s still on the gymnastics team, so one can work too.

Gameday will be broadcast live at 8:00am next Saturday. Someone be a friend and get me one of those Home Depot helmets.
