Caesars Entertainment’s bet that its awards members would stay at a non-casino Caesars hotel has apparently not paid off.

Caesars Republic Scottsdale, a 265-room luxury hotel across from Scottsdale Fashion Square that opened in March 2024 as the brand’s first non-casino hotel, will rebrand as a Hilton property.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Rick Huffman, CEO of Branson, Missouri-based HCW Development, which owns and operates the hotel, shared details about the changes coming to the property at the Business Journal’s recent Restaurant and Hospitality Summit.

He told the meeting that customer preferences reveal that Caesars Rewards customers prefer to spend their reward points on games rather than hotel rooms.

While some aspects of Caesars Republic Scottsdale will remain the same in the rebrand, one big change involves its fine dining restaurant. Seven, named after the floor it sits on, will close next year.

Here’s what we know about Caesars Republic Scottsdale’s upcoming rebrand.

Is Caesars Republic Scottsdale turning into a Hilton?

Hilton now advertises Caesars Republic Scottsdale on its website under a new name: Scottsdale Republic, A Hilton Hotel.

“Next to the luxury shopping and dining of Scottsdale Fashion Square, we are centrally located in Scottsdale, less than two miles from Camelback Mountain,” Hilton says in the hotel’s description. “Enjoy stunning city and mountain views from our rooftop restaurant, pool, bar and event space. Our signature restaurant Luna by Giada offers Italian cuisine with Californian influences and a menu prepared by celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis.”

The hotel is listed as coming in January 2025, but the website is not yet accepting reservations. Starting Nov. 1, the Caesars website shows rooms available at Caesars Republic Scottsdale for the next 365 days.

What does the Hilton rebrand mean for Caesars Rewards members?

Huffman told the Business Journal that the rebranded Caesars Republic, which he expects to open under Hilton management in December, will operate as a partnership between Caesars and Hilton.

Caesars Republic officials told The Arizona Republic that they will share more information about how the Caesars/Hilton partnership will work in an upcoming news release.

It was unclear what the rebranding will mean for Caesars Rewards members. For example, Hilton’s website says the hotel will maintain its current parking rates of $28 per day for self parking and $40 per day for valet parking. It’s not saying whether Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars Caesars Rewards members will be able to park for free, as Rewards members at those levels can at any Caesars resort.

Why is Caesars Republic rebranding?

Huffman’s remarks at the Business Journal summit show that while the hotel is performing well — especially for meetings and group travel — customers haven’t been as receptive as they had expected to a non-casino Caesars hotel.

Caesars Republic Scottsdale does not have a casino because Arizona law only allows casinos on tribal land.
